New Teeth!

We were having Family Home Evening a few weeks ago, and Hunter was laying on the floor upset about something. During the opening song we had our backs turned toward him singing, while we were facing the piano. As we finished, we noticed he wasn't crying anymore, so we turned around to see what was keeping him occupied. This is what he saw, he had rolled over and was watching us.
These are some sunday pictures just before we headed out the door for church.

Bobbie took this one. She forgot to zoom back out from the previous shot. It turned out to be a funny photo.
Hunter will sometimes try to pull and tear his blankets, and then try to eat them.
This depicts his character a little better.
For part of Bobbie's birthday bash, we went to the Putt-Putt. Hunter would watch the ball roll all the way till it stopped. It was so funny. He never fussed once during our 36 holes.
Hunter's new Summer Fun Hat. His melon is so big the strap is a little tight, but it works.
Here is a good shot of his teeth. He is always smiling,(almost always). He has recently been on some medicine for his reflux, which seems to be working really well, and he is a new baby. He seems to be in a lot better mood. He is better to work with during therapy. He is easier to work with during his exercises. He does not spit up nearly as much, and is just in an all around better mood.

He is super ticklish.
Here he is, sound asleep, hugging his nigh'-night bear. He loves it! As soon as we put him down and put it next to his cheek he turns his head toward it and grabs hold of him and closes his eyes like he is so glad to see him.

This is Hunter's first feed of food other than milk. We mixed cereal with some fruit juice and he loved it. The nurses said he probably would not eat too much the first few times because he does not know how to use his tongue to swallow. He is much better at it now after doing it every day for the last week or so. But it is still very messy.

Post from Bobbie

Since Bryan primarily does the updating, I thought I would do a post for once..
Hunter loves his bathtime...
That is when he laughs the most. He will kick the water and then laugh..

I love being a mommy...Hunter is a happy baby and loves smiling..He will let anybody hold him. He is such a joy and feel very blessed that he's my son and that he's healthy...

Guess that is it for now...

Hunter-man Heywood

Hunter has recently discovered his thumb. At first it was his fingers and then slowly became his thumb and fist or arm or our arm, or pretty much anything. This is the first and only time that we have found him asleep with his thumb in his mouth.
He is getting better head control but has yet to achieve his ability to sit up on his own for very long. When he is on the floor like this, he has zero problem controlling his noggin, but sitting up it is a little wobbly.
Just cute.
For so young he sure knows what good reading material is.
His melon is as big as his waste-who knew?
Bobbie was sleeping during this play time with Dad.

We were trying to get a photo of him devouring his hand. He always does after his bottle but every time he sees the camera he freezes. He is getting better. Oh, and that Rubik's Cube there, he is mesmerized by it. He'll reach out for it if it is close enough.
Bobbie took a bunch of photos with him in the recliner. Handsome little man.
All his toys... some of his toys.
I love that expression, it's like he's not too sure about the photographer.
The End.

Hunter's diapers

Hunter's innards have out-grown his perfect fit diapers. What I mean is that his diapers fit him well but about every three to four days he will pee so much that the diaper cannot contain it. I think his 12 lb. baby-body has a 20 lb. baby bladder. Sometimes it will only be his normal three or four hour period during the day between changes and that thing gets so full it weighs as much as he does. And since he sleeps through the night, when we get up in the morning and he has had one of these fire-hydrant episodes in his pants, his whole outfit is soaked on the back. So far this has not been accompanied by poop, except when he had the runs, but you could hardly tell the difference anyway.

Hunter is over his diarrhea. The Doc said it could have been a few different things. His poop test came back negative but they don't test for everything. We are pretty sure he got some kind of bug. I can't remember if it had a name or not, Bobbie knows all about that stuff but she is sleeping from work last night. But he had it for about 8 or 9 days total, he lost about 5 ounces and got a wicked rash. But now he is eating more than he did before, he seems to have gained all his weight back plus some, and is a healthy, happy baby.

Awake at 3am

So I just finished a test a few minutes ago for an Ethics class. I did pretty crappy on it. I really wish I would have applied myself better this semester. This was my best and worst semester yet. I have had the best classes and got the least out of them. I am just writing whatever is on my mind right now to express to everyone what has been going on in our lives recently. Bobbie is at work right now, she works twice a week, which is great, she used to work more and now has more time to be home with Hunter and me. I go to school twice a week and have two online classes which will all be ending this next week. Next semester if things work out I will be taking all four classes on campus so things will be different around here. We seem to have a lot of time together and enjoy watching Hunter grow up. We take turns getting up with hunter and taking care of him, he can be kind of frustrating at times, but I'm sure all babies are. We are learning lots of patience with him. He is still house-bound so we haven't taken him anywhere yet. He will probably take his first trip out in a couple weeks. He weighs 9lbs 4oz and is gaining about a pound every two weeks. He has the cutest smile and shows it a lot. He has been experimenting with his vocal chords, making different sounds and squeals. He is able to hold his head up just fine and he is fascinated by everything around him, especially the ceiling fan for some reason. Oh, and he stares for long periods of time at the pictures of Christ we have on our walls. He will strain his neck to look if he catches a glimpse, kind of curious. And his most favorite thing of all is his pacifier. Since about day two he has loved his pacifier, he goes crazy over that thing. Well, I am starting to feel some tiredness set in so I will end it here. Until next time.

Pictures of little Hunter.

These first two are from when we were doing the trial run with him in the hospital. We stayed overnight for two nights with him in a hotel-style room with all his monitors so the nurses could check in on him regularly. We were responsible for taking care of him 100%, except for some shots he got. He did great! And he loves my neck pillow.

He loves to stretch out and put his arms up, so while he is sleeping I will catch him just lying there in this position dead asleep, he will almost always have at least one arm above his head. Maybe because in the hospital they would swaddle him all the time and lay him down to sleep, I don't know. Every time I unwrap him from a swaddle, his arms shoot up and his legs spring out into a stretch and then he calms down into a comfortable position with his arms above his head, still asleep.
I laid him down to change him before feeding him. I love how he sleeps. This is his Halloween outfit, he got home just in time.
Chillin' in the neck pillow while we watched Kung Fu Panda together on the couch. The next few are in series. I was trying to get him to smile, he does that a lot, or do something cute.

We have a bunch of picture from this series, this one is my favorites. It looks like Hunter is laughing.
He tends to give the blank stare a lot when we want a cute picture, but we will get him smiling on camera one day. I love this one too, mother-son bonding.
Cute little fella!
He was awake for like 3 or 4 hours. He finally dozed off.
Aunt Gen got this for him. He loves it, he likes the bouncing, and the middle tiger plays music which he seems curious about.
