Elk in Tennessee?!

There is a good amount of Amish folk out here. So many in fact that they have their own parking spot reserved at Wal-Mart. Anyway, we went out to one of there little stores, 'The Country Pantry' and next door to it is an Elk Farm. It was near dusk at this time so the photos are kind of dark but you can still see well enough. It was so good to see some real animals. The mature Tennessee deer out here look like Utah fawns.

A couple of weeks ago we were heading to Walmart, and the farmer's field off to the right (just after turning onto highway 89) had a heard of maybe thirty elk. Cool stuff.

I've taken up Elk-hugging. You want a rush? Try it.

Do the Amish shop at Wal-Mart? I thought that they took care of all of their needs themselves. I think they should make a Wal-Mart commercial about the Amish -Sherrie

I know! I was shocked to see them at Wallie's. It's really kind of a strange life they decide to live. They "don't use modern technology" to live but they shop there. If they are gonna give in a little they might as well give in all they way.
