I took a little trip to Washington DC this week. The Army sent me out to Walter Reed Medical Center for my back. While there I rented a car and took a look around. The one day I spent seeing the National Mall as they call it, I failed to see the White House. I was under the impression that it was located where the US Capitol is located. By the time I made it to the Capitol building I had realized that I might get my car towed. So I hurried back only to realize that I could have parked there all night if I wanted to. The Army is sending me back sometime soon and I am surely going to see it then.
That is cool...We need to go back there sometime. We were there for only a day and took in the sights but there is so much to see. It was about nine years ago that we were both there. I proposed to her in front of the Washington Monument. tear* thanks for the trip down memory lane...more tears*
You have the coolest obelisk pics of all the blogs! I'm jealous.
Reminds me of a discussion I was having with an athiest friend. I said I'd like to go to Washington to see the White House and all the stuff that's back there, because my experience with it was kind of like watching a TV show where everything - including the president - could be made up - like they were actors in a movie - and I'd like to see it all for myself. And my athiest frien said, "Well, sometimes you have to just go on blind faith." I then said, "That's kind of funny coming from an athiest!" He said, "Yeah, I guess it is!"
Did you know a desk is in the oval office that has secret drawers and a map leading to a big treasure... Oh, Sadie just told me that was a movie I saw. It would be pretty neat if that was true though!
