These pictures are from our very first date. We went out to Land Between the Lakes and drove down just about every road we could find. We stopped by the Fish and Game office and picked up some maps of the area. We decided to take all the tertiary roads and some of the secondary, being as they are the roughest terrain. We didn't get many pictures of the actual trip because we were having too much fun driving through all the mud puddles and such. Also these spiders were all over the place. Driving down dirt roads which had not been traveled for a while had these webs strung across them with these huge spiders chilling in the middle. Just that day we must have passed through 12-18 webs. The body is about as big as a nickel. I was once driving along and kept driving through these webs and I had two of these huge things on my truck visibly. I was afraid to open my door to get out later. Anyway, Bobbie actually walked into a web at her legs but the spider scurried away. The snake we saw is a copperhead, not quite sure if that's Northern or Southern. They are extremely venomous but very tame and playful. We were playing Tag with this one. As you can see, this bugger is about to be "it". When we drove past him he was slithering out into the road to warm in the sun. As we stood next to him he began to flatten out to soak up all the heat he could. Beautiful specimen.

I once pulled up to mom and dad's and dad was lying in the road flattened out as much as possible soaking up the rays. I ran him over.

That explains why he lies on the roof...
