I bumped my head

I was reading over my medical papers today and remembered about the time I had my bike accident. I told Bobbie the story and thought more about Elder Zuniga. Does anyone have any kind of info on him. I would really like to maybe look him up. Mom may be the link I need.

We shall see

Bobbie and I are wondering if any of you might feel like putting some pictures of Grams and Gramps Heywood on the Blog. We do not have any and Bobbie would very much like to see some. We are planning on going out to see all the CA folks but not for prolly 2 years or so, after the Afghanistan trip.

Sleeping Beauty

When I come home from P.T. each morning at about 0745 Bobbie is still asleep. I love to catch her "posing". (she doesn't know I put this on here yet)

What the...

What do you suppose this is? I get a funny little lump every couple-three weeks and I pick it with my fingernail. What I pick out resembles the same stuff which comes out of a good black-head. And every few weeks it is renewed with more stuff. I picked it a little too aggressively this one time and it scabbed. That is what you see here.

While we were there we went to the beach two times. The first time we got there kind of late but it was fun. I got pinched pretty bad by a crab. It was dark and we were looking for seashells in the water. I was about knee deep in the light of the peer and saw what looked like a shell the size of my hand. So very excitedly I reached down and grabbed it. It grabbed me back with his claw by pinching me on the pinkie finger. It hurt.

The next time we went to the beach we rented a surf board and attempted surfing. Bobbie has always wanted to try surfing but never got the chance. The waves on the East coast are pretty sad and were worse this day. But we tried for about an hour. We never got up on the board but it was so much fun trying.

This is a little late. These are pics of Bobbie's sister's family on the Fourth of July.
The adults and a couple of the kids were up talking late and Bobbie and Madison fell asleep next to me on the couch.
We all went up to a Natural History Museum in Raleigh, NC. That is little Lindsey Bobbie is holding.
This is one of my Girlfriends I acquired while there. Bobbie warned me they were all flirts. This is Mary. She is so adorable.

Bobbie's cross-stitch

Bobbie finished this masterpiece the other day and it is now hanging in our bathroom.

Training

I am building my endurance by running with a pack on my back. We don't have a scale so I don't know how much it weighed but I put my complete Kevlar vest in the pack. It weighs maybe 30 or 40 lbs. I was pooped.

What in the...

So what is with people not updating their Blog's and such? I can't say much, but I was just wondering why nobody is posting too many comments or updating their Blog's much anymore. Bobbie and I do need to get better at it too. But I seem to be the one who does the posting and I just don't feel much like doing anything after a 11-13 hour day, 5:30-6:30 just about everyday. stinky like poop!

We have started FINALLY

"The best place to have food set aside is in our homes..."

"We can begin ever so modestly. We can begin with one week's food supply and gradually build it to a month and then to three months....I fear that so many feel that a long-term food supply is so far beyond their reach that they make no effort at all"

"Begin in a small way,...and gradually build toward a reasonable objective."

Gordon B. Hinkley
in conference Report, Oct. 2002

Bobbie and I have made a list of things we need to be better at and one of them is getting our food storage ready. We went down to the Bishop's Storehouse/Cannery Saturday and purchased some food. We now have 29 cans of food and a box of Raman Noodles.

New Car

Here is a look at the newest member of our family. 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid. It has close to the same acceleration of a normal Civic, only it get's above 40 MPG all time. When you come to a stop at a light the engine shuts off completely. It really trips you out the first while. Also the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) does not shift. You just accelerate faster and faster and faster. It drives just like a Honda. Here is a link to learn more about how Hybrids operate.http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question262.htm

woowoo baby!!

I had another funeral detail the other day. We dress in our greens and do the whole folding of the flag and presenting it to the next of kin. It is a really cool experience.

Fithing twip

Bobbie and I just purchased this grill. This was the first time we looked at it and it came with no instructions. We put it together and used it and had a little bag of screws and such left over.

These two are some of our friends in the ward, Mark and Natalie. Mark is the guy who I met in Iraq and taught the gospel to. They are Ward Missionaries in the Clarksville 2nd ward. We hang out with them from time to time.

We all catched fishes. It was really rad. I put the worn on the hook all by myself. Bobbie didn't even help me.

Beetle Bug

Check out this little bugger. Out here in good ol' Tennssee are some perty cool lookin' bugs.

Acorn Squash

These things are delicious!! All you do is cut them in half, I recommend with a chain-saw, and bake it on a piece of foil for one hour at 400 degrees. Tasty plain or with butter or even chocolate cake.

BIG THING

Check out the size of this animal. In real life he is way bigger. Next time we are going to bring our video camera.

...continuation.

Here is some more pics of our adventure. We drove down that one in the sunset. That was a pretty well hidden road. It is not so hidden in the picture however. Bobbie was a little scared. I was very giddy.
