Love Fishing

I have discovered a great fishing spot. I have caught two different species of catfish there along with Smallmouth Bass and Bluegill. This is a 22' channel cat I caught last weekend. He is filleted and frozen along with another smaller channel and a blue catfish almost as long but about twice as big around.

These pictures here show me stuck in very soft clay. A guy in a Jeep came out to chat and when he tried to leave he just spun in the clay. I offered to unstuck him with confidence but got stuck myself. His Jeep is so light that it wouldn't really dig down, my truck just kept getting deeper and deeper.

With lots of digging and pulling with his Jeep we were able to pull it out. The two here are Amy and TJ Jones

When I go fishing by myself I bait Bobbie's pole and let it sit while I use mine with different techniques. During this little adventure I had left her pole baited. Later I went to get the camera to take these pictures and discovered that a fish, probably a good size catfish, swam off with the pole. You could see in the mud where the pole was drug into the water. Amy told me that their neighbor caught a 93 lb. catfish just across from where we were. I don't think it was quite that big but it got me excited to catch a big fish. After getting unstuck I caught two more cats.

Free Vacuum

We found this beside the dumpster at our apt. I suspected I could fix it, so I snatched it up. My suspicions were that the belt was just broken.
My suspicions were correct.

Fisshing!!

This is my catch of the day. Ain't she a beauty?
Bobbie got her line stuck and I had to retrieve it for her. This picture only shows about 1/5 of the tree. I am about 20 feet from shore. I almost fell in twice trying to unsnag her the line. I got it though.
This is the beauty Bobbie caught. We did not have a scale or a measuring tape but it felt to be about just under 10 lbs. Maybe about 6-8.
It was at least 18 in. Not too shabby!
He is so good lookin'.

I am wondering about a post

I was wondering if any of you checked out the www.familywatchdog.us site. I noticed there is no comment on it and I was just thinking if maybe perhaps you thought it was think it means what it does not mean. If you ever go out on a walk or something like that, without boxing gloves, or a muscley man such as myself, this site just informs you of who else is out walking in your neighborhood.

I am curious now

I was reading some parts of some of the long posts about Barry Bonds in Hal's Discussions when I read that John claims to be 5'11" and 165 lbs. So I am curious now where others are in their Height vs. Weight ratio.

Tragic story

Landing to get refueled and reloaded with bullets and rockets.
This is a bad picture of the range where the helicopter's practice shooting.
Another view.
A zoomed in view. These pics are blury cuz I took them through the windshield of a Humvee. I was here all weeks as a driver.

I bumped my head

I was reading over my medical papers today and remembered about the time I had my bike accident. I told Bobbie the story and thought more about Elder Zuniga. Does anyone have any kind of info on him. I would really like to maybe look him up. Mom may be the link I need.

We shall see

Bobbie and I are wondering if any of you might feel like putting some pictures of Grams and Gramps Heywood on the Blog. We do not have any and Bobbie would very much like to see some. We are planning on going out to see all the CA folks but not for prolly 2 years or so, after the Afghanistan trip.

Sleeping Beauty

When I come home from P.T. each morning at about 0745 Bobbie is still asleep. I love to catch her "posing". (she doesn't know I put this on here yet)

What the...

What do you suppose this is? I get a funny little lump every couple-three weeks and I pick it with my fingernail. What I pick out resembles the same stuff which comes out of a good black-head. And every few weeks it is renewed with more stuff. I picked it a little too aggressively this one time and it scabbed. That is what you see here.

While we were there we went to the beach two times. The first time we got there kind of late but it was fun. I got pinched pretty bad by a crab. It was dark and we were looking for seashells in the water. I was about knee deep in the light of the peer and saw what looked like a shell the size of my hand. So very excitedly I reached down and grabbed it. It grabbed me back with his claw by pinching me on the pinkie finger. It hurt.

The next time we went to the beach we rented a surf board and attempted surfing. Bobbie has always wanted to try surfing but never got the chance. The waves on the East coast are pretty sad and were worse this day. But we tried for about an hour. We never got up on the board but it was so much fun trying.

This is a little late. These are pics of Bobbie's sister's family on the Fourth of July.
The adults and a couple of the kids were up talking late and Bobbie and Madison fell asleep next to me on the couch.
We all went up to a Natural History Museum in Raleigh, NC. That is little Lindsey Bobbie is holding.
This is one of my Girlfriends I acquired while there. Bobbie warned me they were all flirts. This is Mary. She is so adorable.

Bobbie's cross-stitch

Bobbie finished this masterpiece the other day and it is now hanging in our bathroom.

Training

I am building my endurance by running with a pack on my back. We don't have a scale so I don't know how much it weighed but I put my complete Kevlar vest in the pack. It weighs maybe 30 or 40 lbs. I was pooped.

What in the...

So what is with people not updating their Blog's and such? I can't say much, but I was just wondering why nobody is posting too many comments or updating their Blog's much anymore. Bobbie and I do need to get better at it too. But I seem to be the one who does the posting and I just don't feel much like doing anything after a 11-13 hour day, 5:30-6:30 just about everyday. stinky like poop!

We have started FINALLY

"The best place to have food set aside is in our homes..."

"We can begin ever so modestly. We can begin with one week's food supply and gradually build it to a month and then to three months....I fear that so many feel that a long-term food supply is so far beyond their reach that they make no effort at all"

"Begin in a small way,...and gradually build toward a reasonable objective."

Gordon B. Hinkley
in conference Report, Oct. 2002

Bobbie and I have made a list of things we need to be better at and one of them is getting our food storage ready. We went down to the Bishop's Storehouse/Cannery Saturday and purchased some food. We now have 29 cans of food and a box of Raman Noodles.

New Car

Here is a look at the newest member of our family. 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid. It has close to the same acceleration of a normal Civic, only it get's above 40 MPG all time. When you come to a stop at a light the engine shuts off completely. It really trips you out the first while. Also the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) does not shift. You just accelerate faster and faster and faster. It drives just like a Honda. Here is a link to learn more about how Hybrids operate.http://auto.howstuffworks.com/question262.htm
